Michelle Dee contacted me about recreating a scene from Blade Runner featuring the character Rachael. Michelle talks about the shoot and her motivation for choosing Rachael in her own words:
I chose Rachael from Blade Runner because she is such an intriguing character; she is viewed as a ‘constructed female’ a label I can relate to. The shadow of uncertainty hangs over her, human or not, she still asks universal questions we can all relate to: who am I? Where did I come from?
Plus, Rachael is super glamorous in a classic style, the hair and make up were really good fun to experiment with: my stylist and advisor was Bella. Unicorn wrangler was Alyx Tamminen and the location was Union Mash Up, a haven for artistic expression and inspirational performance in Hull.
