Meet Priscilla and her owner the remarkable Chris Broadwell, a wizard with light engineering and live sound.
Priscilla is a   customised 1963 series2 long wheelbase 109 Safari Station Wagon built by Landrover. If my maths are right that’s 55years old. Priscilla does not pay any Road Tax as she is exempt due to her age. In Priscilla’s career she has taken the groom to be and 20 of his best friends to assorted public houses in Hull, appeared at a millenium rave and now is one of the stars of the Hullywood Icons team.
Priscilla almost came to an untimely end when the modifications for the Hullywood sound and light projection systems set fire to her dashboard (it’s a welding thing) on Christmas eve but she now has a new wiring loom and is rocking and rolling with the good people of Hull.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Doug Peters asked me if he could recreate a scene from Close Encounters of the Third Kind and play one of the aliens, only briefly glimpsed at the end of the film he’s very poorly so it took a tremendous effort on his part to don the mask and walk into his garden but the results I think are well worth it.

The Matrix

When I got to the top floor of the  King Billy Car Park in Hull early on  a cold dark saturday morning I could see a lone figure in the distance studying the fantastic views over the city of Hull. It was Catherine Goble and we were here to shoot a scene from The Matrix Hullywood style – have you got the gun I asked oh yes she chuckled and the shades excellent, let’s do it… So here we have Catherine Goble as Trinity played by Carrie-Anne Moss.

Ghostbusters: Answer the Call

Georgina Garton got in touch with me about playing  Melissa McCarthy  (Abby Yates) in Ghostbusters: Answer the Call she suggested Ye Olde White Harte Hull’s most haunted and historically significant pub as a venue. Little did she realise that we would be dealing with real ghosts on the shoot!

Ghostbusters (alternatively known as Ghostbusters: Answer the Call and marketed as such on home release) is a 2016 American-Australian supernatural action comedy horror film directed by Paul Feig. Written by Feig and Katie Dippold, the film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth. It is the third feature film in the Ghostbusters franchise and serves as a reboot to the previous films about four women who start a ghost-catching business in New York City.

A third Ghostbusters film had been in the various stages of development following the release of Ghostbusters II in 1989. As a result of original cast member Bill Murray’s refusal to commit to the project and the death of fellow cast member Harold Ramis in 2014, Sony decided to reboot the series. Much of the original film’s cast make cameo appearances in new roles. The announcement of the female-lead cast in 2015 drew a polarized response from the public and Internet backlash.

The Wolverine

I’m a sucker for a good super hero so when Richard Hall called about recreating the marvel super hero Wolverine it was a yes from me. With Les Drake (a filmmaker working on a documentary about the creation of the Hullywood Icons and wise-cracking Alex, a journalist from the Yorkshire Post in tow we recreated Wolverine for the Hullywood Icons.

The Big Lebowski

When my eldest son Zeb said can I do Jeffrey ‘The Dude’ Lebowski on the toilet from the Coen brothers cult classic The Big Lebowski – I had to say yes! Zeb is writing the ‘Score of Scores’ for the Hullywood Icons projections and here he is as ‘The Dude’ played by Jeff Bridges in the film.
