I’ve been having a lovely evening with my other half thinking of iconic scenes, so if this doesn’t happen we’ve had fun and enjoyed ourselves, so thanks! Here are our ideas!….
I would love to recreate the scene from the titanic with my husband…. perhaps on top of the deep?! Although an elderly couple would be fab for this (we’re approaching 40)
Paul quite fancies himself as Forest Gump on the bench with a box of chocolates or Marty Mcfly being pulled along on a skateboard! I think the kids would appreciate him posing as Gene Wilder in Charlie and the chocolate factory, the scene of him coming out of the factory for the first time.
My son Louis has been riding his bike without stabilisers for a year (he’s only 4) so the scene in ET of Elliot flying would be fab (it was also my first ever duvet cover as a kid!!) He also does a very good scared Mcauly Culkin impression from Home Alone!
My daughter Heidi (7) would love to recreate a scene from Shirley temples Heidi alongside her grandad (who looks like Father Christmas)

And this rather lovely one from Aleysha who I helped to train as a filmmaker many years ago:
Hello Quentin,
Not sure if you remember me but you taught me quite a few years ago at Cottingham high school doing music video work experience and then you returned a few years later and I helped run workshops on horror films. Think we are connections on LinkedIn!
I was just sent your call out for the Hull2017 project and thought I would take the opportunity to say thanks for those workshops all those years ago as I’m now working freelance in film and TV. Also I’d love to get involved since movies are such a big part of my life and so is Hull.
I would love to be Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction in that classic dancing scene in Jack Rabbit Slims. My favourite film director, favourite film (watched it as a young teenager) and he was my inspiration in starting my career!
Hope to hear from you,
Aleysha
